San Antonio Province, Coastal province in Valparaíso Region, Chile
San Antonio Province is a coastal region with six municipalities along the Pacific shore in the Valparaíso area. The landscape combines port zones, fishing harbors, and agricultural land spreading toward the interior.
The province received its current administrative form in 1975 through a decree and was established as a separate district within the Valparaíso Region. Its growth has been driven mainly by port operations and later wine production.
The region is shaped by its fishing traditions, which are visible along the shores and permeate daily life. You can see fishing boats in the harbors and smell the sea everywhere in the coastal towns.
The area has a Mediterranean climate with oceanic influences that remain pleasant year-round. Visitors can find good road connections between the coastal towns and toward the interior.
The country's largest cargo port facility is located here and handles more freight than the famous Valparaíso harbor. This infrastructure remains hidden from many visitors despite being economically vital.
