The Museo de Bellas Artes occupies the Baburizza Palace, featuring Art Nouveau architecture with intricate details and ornamental elements throughout its structure.
Established in 1893 as the Museum of Painting, the institution relocated to Palacio Baburizza in 1971 after the municipality of Valparaíso acquired the building.
The museum displays 244 restored paintings, including Chilean landscapes and European artworks dating from 1840 to 1930 from the Baburizza Collection.
Located at Paseo Yugoslavo 176, the museum opens Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with access via the El Peral funicular.
The collection includes works donated by artists Alfredo Valenzuela Puelma and Camilo Mori, alongside pieces from writer Augusto d'Halmar.
