Pillku Urqu

Pillku Urqu is a mountain summit in the Cusco Region that rises to 4448 meters above sea level, with forested lower slopes transitioning into extensive grasslands near the peak. The vegetation changes gradually as you climb, creating distinct ecological zones with different plant species.

The mountain served as a geographical landmark for early settlements in Cusco Valley, shaping how pre-Inca populations organized and positioned their communities. Its prominent location made it a crucial reference point for ancient peoples planning settlements and routes.
