Yauyos Province

The territory spans across 6,901 square kilometers of mountainous terrain, reaching elevations up to 5,000 meters in the Peruvian Andes.

The province was established as an administrative division of Peru with 33 districts, each maintaining its own local government and jurisdiction.

The Tupe district preserves the indigenous Jaqaru language, while other areas maintain traditional Quechua dialects passed through generations.

Visitors can reach the province through a network of roads connecting to Lima, with accommodations available in towns throughout the region.

The Nor Yauyos-Cochas Landscape Reserve contains numerous high-altitude lakes, including Pumaqucha, surrounded by Andean peaks.
