Chachapoyas Province

Located at 2,335 meters above sea level, Chachapoyas Province spans 3,312 square kilometers across diverse mountain landscapes with twenty-one distinct districts.

The Spanish established the province's first settlement in La Jalca on September 5, 1538, naming it San Juan de la Frontera de los Chachapoyas.
