Roca Museum - Historical Research Institute, National history museum in San Telmo, Buenos Aires, Argentina
The Roca Museum Historical Research Institute displays over 50,000 artifacts related to Argentina's independence and national development through exhibitions of flags, weapons, and uniforms.
Founded in 1962, this museum preserves historical items from the May Revolution of 1810 and exhibits personal belongings of independence leaders José de San Martín and Manuel Belgrano.
The collection includes paintings by Argentine artists Esteban Echeverría, Cándido López, and Prilidiano Pueyrredón, representing the nation's visual heritage from the 19th century.
Located at Vicente López 2220, the museum offers free admission on Wednesdays and provides guided tours in English from Wednesday to Friday at noon.
The museum building was previously owned by English merchant Daniel Mackinlay and later transformed from a mansion into a cultural institution.
