University of Belgrano, private university in Argentina
The University of Belgrano is a private institution in Buenos Aires offering more than 30 undergraduate and nearly 20 postgraduate programs across communication, law, economics, design, and social sciences. The campus features modern buildings, spacious classrooms, workshops, and a library where students work on projects and prepare for exams.
Founded in 1964 by Dr. Avelino J. Porto, the university began with 90 students and 28 faculty members. From the 1980s onward, it progressively expanded international partnerships, now holding agreements with institutions across 28 countries and maintaining membership in NAFSA since 1984.
The university draws students from over 50 countries, creating a multilingual learning community where different backgrounds shape daily interactions. Exchange programs and international partnerships have been central to its identity since the 1980s, fostering a globally minded student body.
The campus is located at Zabala 1837 with convenient access to public transportation including buses and subways. Support services guide new and international students through admissions, provide orientation assistance, and help with settling into the area.
A landmark tower completed in 1992 houses multiple faculties including Law, Economics, Humanities, and Architecture in one structure, encouraging spontaneous interactions between students from different disciplines. This design allows students to move between classes and cross-departmental collaboration happens naturally throughout the day.
