Casa Matriz del Banco República, Neoclassical bank headquarters in Ciudad Vieja, Montevideo, Uruguay.

The main building of Banco República exhibits grand columns, symmetrical shapes, and decorative sculptures across its imposing stone facade at Ciudad Vieja district.

Italian architect Giovanni Veltroni designed this financial institution in 1934, marking a period when Uruguay was establishing its banking infrastructure.

The exterior sculptures, created by José Luis Zorrilla de San Martín in the 1940s, include a representation of national hero José Gervasio Artigas.

The bank headquarters stands near multiple public transportation routes and remains an active financial center in Montevideo's historic district.

The building appeared in the 2014 short film Protocolo Celeste, featuring actress Natalia Oreiro and footballer Diego Forlán as agents recovering a stolen medal.
