Curupaiti Fort

Curupaiti Fort is a military fortification on the Paraguay River bank, located about 5 kilometers south of Fort Humaitá. The site displays remnants of artillery positions and defensive walls that reveal its strategic design against attackers from both the river and land.

The fort was built during the Paraguayan War and played a crucial role in a major battle in 1866. The conflict demonstrated how defenders skillfully used the landscape and river position to protect their stronghold.
