The Cabra Corral Reservoir extends across 115 square kilometers at an elevation of 1,037 meters, collecting waters from multiple rivers in northwestern Argentina.
The construction of Cabra Corral Dam occurred between 1966 and 1972 through a partnership between Italian and Argentinian companies, creating the second-largest dam in Argentina.
Ancient petroglyphs and rock paintings near the reservoir display figures of men, women, children, and deities, representing the artistic heritage of indigenous communities.
Visitors access the reservoir via National Route 68, located 75 kilometers south of Salta city, with facilities for boat rentals and fishing equipment at the Fisherman's Club.
The reservoir offers opportunities for extreme sports, including bungee jumping from its 93-meter-high columns and rafting expeditions on the connected Juramento River.
