Viamão

Viamão is a municipality in Rio Grande do Sul that spans across a large territory with residential neighborhoods, commercial zones, and green spaces. The city sits at approximately 106 meters elevation and forms part of the metropolitan area around Porto Alegre.

The city was founded in 1741 and served briefly as the administrative center of Rio Grande do Sul before the capital relocated to Porto dos Casais in 1773. This early prominence reflects the region's importance during the colonial period.

The Igreja da Conceição displays the colonial baroque style with curved lines and ornate stonework that characterizes 18th-century religious buildings in the region.
