Fazenda Velha, Colonial farmhouse museum in Telêmaco Borba, Brazil
The Fazenda Velha features a large plantation house constructed with traditional rammed earth techniques, displaying typical Portuguese colonial architecture of southern Brazil.
The farmhouse, built in the 18th century, served as the headquarters of Monte Alegre Farm before the Klabin family acquired the property in 1934.
The museum contains artifacts and documents that represent the transition from indigenous Kaingang territories to Portuguese colonial agricultural settlements in Paraná state.
Visitors must schedule guided tours through the Klabin company to access the museum and explore the historical buildings of the former plantation.
The structure maintains its original rammed earth walls and underwent significant modifications during the Franco-Brazilian company period, including the addition of a front porch.
