Parish Church of Piraí do Sul

The Parish Church of Menino Deus is a Catholic place of worship with three naves and two towers on its front facade, located in the downtown area of Piraí do Sul. The building displays eclectic architectural features that blend elements from different periods and styles.

The church received permission for construction in 1849, though the actual building work did not begin until 10 years later in 1859. After completion, it initially served as the meeting place for the city's first municipal council.

The church's name honors the Christ Child, venerated in this region for centuries among local Catholics. It remains the main gathering place for religious celebrations and community devotion throughout the year.

A statue of the Christ Child found in 1805 within abandoned Jesuit ruins is housed in this church. A cattle driver traveling between distant regions reportedly discovered the figure and brought it to this sanctuary.
