Parque Histórico de Carambeí, Historical museum in Carambeí, Brazil.
Parque Histórico de Carambeí is a large museum complex with several themed areas, including a House of Memory, a reconstructed Historical Village, and a Water Park. These different zones showcase the architecture, technologies, and story of the Dutch community that settled in this region.
The museum was established in 2011 to commemorate Dutch immigrants who first settled in this area in 1911 and built a new community. Their arrival marked the beginning of a cultural connection between the Netherlands and this region of Paraná.
The Historical Village displays reconstructed homes of Dutch settlers with traditional architecture that reflects their craftsmanship and everyday life. Visitors walk through streets designed to show how the early inhabitants lived and worked.
Parking is available directly at the entrance, making arrival straightforward, and the pathways through the different zones are well-maintained and easy to navigate. Comfortable shoes are recommended, as there is considerable walking through outdoor areas.
The Water Park displays traditional Dutch water management techniques through interactive exhibits and reconstructions of North Holland-style houses. This approach is unusual for a museum in Brazil, as it connects technology and culture in a practical way.
