Praia Aviação

Praia da Aviação is a wide sandy beach in Praia Grande with strong waves and palm trees along the shoreline. The coast stretches across several kilometers and offers plenty of space for water activities and relaxation on the sand.

The name comes from the Santos Aero Club, founded in 1936 as a landing point for the Brazilian Air Force. The original airfield was later transformed into the beach area that exists today.

Local surfers come here regularly because of the steady wave patterns and easy access to the water. They use the beach as a meeting point to practice together and share tips about the best conditions throughout the day.

Kiosks and restaurants line the shore, offering chairs, umbrellas, and refreshments throughout the day. Visitors can easily find a spot to rest and access food options while spending time at the beach.

The author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, who wrote The Little Prince, once landed at the original airfield before it became a beach. This connection to a famous writer is a lesser-known part of the area's past that few visitors discover.
