Centro Cultural São Paulo, Cultural center and library in São Paulo, Brazil
The Centro Cultural São Paulo is a large cultural center located between two main streets, featuring theaters, exhibition spaces, and garden areas. The building contains a library with historical collections and multiple rooms for events and artistic activities.
The building emerged from a 1970s plan for commercial towers and a library and opened as a cultural center in 1979. This transformation of the original plans created a new venue for art exhibitions and cultural events in São Paulo.
The library houses an extensive collection of recordings spanning different music genres that visitors can explore. This collection makes the place an important hub for anyone interested in Brazilian music and cultural heritage.
The venue is directly accessible from Vergueiro Station on the Blue Line metro, with four entrances along the street. Visitors can reach different areas through an internal pathway system featuring ramps and stairs.
Inside the building runs a 300-meter internal street connecting different areas through ramps and stairs, resembling a wooded pathway. This long passage with blue metal supports that look like tree trunks creates an unusual way to move through the complex.
