Museu do Computador, Technology museum in Santa Ifigênia, São Paulo, Brazil.
The Computer Museum houses more than 15,000 items including hardware, software, manuals, books, posters, and photographs that document the evolution of computing technology. The collection is currently stored in two warehouses within the São Paulo Metropolitan Region.
The museum was established in 1998 by José Carlos Valle following the COMDEX trade fair at Anhembi, beginning in Interlagos with donated computer collections. It grew from an effort to preserve the history of computing in the country.
The museum preserves Brazilian computing equipment such as the TK 85 model, reflecting the country's technological path since the 1980s. Visitors can trace how local engineers and manufacturers contributed to the digital revolution.
The museum currently organizes temporary exhibitions at various locations since the main collection is stored in warehouses. Check in advance where the next exhibition will be held in your area.
The museum holds a rare Burroughs B-500 hard drive from 1964 and one of the first Macintosh computers from 1984. These rarities represent key milestones from different eras of computing history.
