Pico dos Marins is a summit in the Mantiqueira Range situated between Piquete and Cruzeiro in São Paulo state. The northern face shows a gentler slope than surrounding peaks, providing an alternative ascent path.

Pico dos Marins was first climbed in 1911. For decades afterwards it was listed in official publications and schoolbooks as the highest point in São Paulo state, until surveys of the Serra Fina showed Pedra da Mina (2,798 m) to be far higher. The peak remains a landmark visible across much of the Paraíba do Sul valley.

The massif's three sharp peaks are named, north to south, Marins, Maria and Mariana, and the summit is the one most often reached. Its north face, less vertical than the cliffs of its neighbours, made it the usual route since the first ascent in 1911. Climbers still follow that line as a "escalaminhada", a walk-climb needing no ropes or pitons.

The climb is rated medium to hard and is a scramble, so ropes and pitons are not needed, but a guide is advised to keep to the trail. Do not go up on rainy days: there is no shelter from rain or lightning. Anyone camping on the summit should guard against hypothermia, as dawn temperatures can reach 0°C in summer and -12°C in winter.

The peak was long mistakenly listed in regional publications as the highest point in São Paulo state. This error persisted for many years until more precise measurements clarified the facts.
