Founded in 1913 as a sawmill by Antonio Garcia de Paiva, the facility supplied construction materials during the development of Belo Horizonte as the new capital.
The venue now hosts art exhibitions, trade fairs, concerts, and community gatherings under the management of the Clovis Salgado Foundation since 1999.
The center offers food services, vendor spaces, and flexible arrangements for various events, with typical visits lasting approximately two hours.
The building incorporated an aerial mechanism for transporting logs and railroad tracks that extended directly into the facility during its industrial period.
