Belo Horizonte Fashion Museum, Fashion museum in central Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
The Belo Horizonte Fashion Museum is a cultural venue in the city center housed in a building with neogothic and manueline architectural features, including a distinctive tower and ornate wooden ceilings. The space contains exhibition areas for clothing and textile collections along with a theater that seats 77 people.
The building was constructed between 1911 and 1916, initially serving as the municipal council headquarters and public library. It later housed Radio Mineira, the city's first radio station.
The museum displays clothing and textiles that trace how Brazilian fashion evolved through different periods. Visitors can observe the changing styles and preferences that shaped daily dress in the country.
The museum is located in the downtown area and is easy to reach on foot. The exhibition spaces can accommodate about 200 visitors at once, so visiting during quieter times helps you view the collections more comfortably.
The building is part of the Cidade Revelada project and appears on pedestrian traffic signals throughout the city. This initiative brings architectural awareness to residents by showing them their city's history in daily life.
