Mineiro Museum

The Mineiro Museum is housed in a 19th-century building in the Funcionários district and displays over 3,500 objects arranged across 46 different collections. The exhibition spans Colonial Sacred Art, historical paintings, archaeological finds, and liturgical equipment from multiple centuries.

The building served as the seat of the Minas Gerais State Senate from 1905 to 1930. It later functioned as a payroll office before being converted into a museum in 1982.

The collections feature works by regional artists spanning different periods, showing the artistic development of Minas Gerais. These pieces reflect how sacred art shaped the cultural life of the state over centuries.

The museum operates on different days with varying hours and is located centrally in the Funcionários district. The space is fully accessible with ramps and elevators available for visitors with mobility needs.

The building displays neoclassical architectural features that reflect its past as a political center. The original facade and interior design remain visible today, reminding visitors of its time as a senate seat.
