Mirante do Mangabeiras

Mirante do Mangabeiras is an observation platform located on the Serra do Curral mountain range, offering comprehensive views of Belo Horizonte's urban landscape and the surrounding hills. The site features facilities including restrooms, rest areas, and three telescopes for closer observation.

The site originally housed a weather station and a building for Radio Jornal do Brasil. It became a public space in 2006 when the Municipal Parks Foundation took control of the location.

The viewpoint connects visitors with their surroundings through informational signs about local flora, fauna, and geographical features of the Minas Gerais region. These markers help people understand the natural and urban elements that shape the landscape.

The site is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and can be reached via the main pathway. It is advisable to visit early in the day for the best views and fewer crowds.

The wooden deck provides an almost 360-degree view of Belo Horizonte, where modern high-rises stand alongside the natural mountain formation. This perspective reveals the contrast between the developed city and its geographical setting.
