The Natural Sciences Museum at Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais is a repository of Brazilian natural history in Belo Horizonte. The exhibition presents mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians from the Cerrado biome arranged in detailed displays.

The museum was founded in 1983 and operates as an educational facility within a university that began its work several decades earlier. Its collections developed through systematic gathering and preservation of specimens from Brazilian nature.

The museum displays collections that document the Cerrado ecosystem and its wildlife, showing how people in this region relate to the natural world around them. Visitors can observe which species live in this Brazilian biome and understand how the environment functions.

Guided visits are offered for organised groups, mainly children, led by university students of biology, history, philosophy and pedagogy. In January and July school holidays the museum runs three-hour packages with workshops, educational games, guided tours and a snack. The limestone cave replica was removed after a fire that started in the cave.

The museum holds fossils from the Mesozoic era, including remains of dinosaurs, flying reptiles, and a giant crocodile skull. These pieces reveal the prehistoric past of the region and are rarely seen in museums of this size.
