Construction began in April 2020 after Atletico Mineiro sold their stake in Diamond Mall, with the stadium opening its doors in April 2023.
The stadium serves as the primary venue for Atletico Mineiro matches, providing a dedicated home ground for the first time since 1950.
The facility contains multiple food service areas, restrooms on each level, and direct access to public transportation from the California neighborhood.
Local architect Bernardo Farkasvölgyi incorporated specific acoustic systems in the design to contain sound during indoor concerts and sporting events.
