Brasilia TV Tower, architectural structure
The Brasília TV Tower is a 224-meter radio and television transmission tower located on Brasilia's Monumental Axis and inaugurated in 1967. Situated in the Burle Marx Garden on Eixo Monumental, it consists of the tower itself, a belvedere and a museum, the Museum of Gems. In addition to these attractions, the immediate vicinity also houses the Fair Tower and the TV Tower Fountain, which account for its immense popularity among tourists, with an average of ten to twelve thousand people visiting the area weekly. Initially, the tower had an approximate height of 218 metres. However, after the Bandeirantes TV channel made certain additions, its height rose to the current 224 metres. As the fourth tallest structure in Brazil, it can be easily viewed from Juscelino Kubitschek Bridge, making it even more likely to garner attention from tourists. Both the inside and outside of the Brasília TV Tower contain numerous attractions for visitors. On the inside, the tower features the Museum of Gems which hosts a variety of precious and semi-precious stones from across the globe. In terms of outside attractions, the belvedere and the TV tower fountain are key draws, and provide the perfect place to take pictures and appreciate the views of Brasília. The Brasília TV Tower is an iconic landmark to the city and is a must-see on anyone's tourist agenda. With its rich history, vivid attractions and memorable views, it is no wonder why it is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Brazil.
