Uruçuca

Uruçuca is a municipality in Bahia that spans across multiple protected natural areas within its territory. The Serra do Conduru State Park and Lagoa Encantada Reserve occupy significant portions, creating a landscape shaped by forests and water features.

The place was founded on June 30, 1962, emerging from an agricultural settlement in the region. Over time it developed into an organized municipality with administrative systems within Bahia state.

The Nossa Senhora da Conceição Church in the center reflects the religious tradition that remains important to residents. On holidays, people gather there, connecting the place to spiritual practices that shape community life.

The area connects well to the larger city of Itabuna, roughly 50 kilometers away through an established road network. Visitors can access additional services and facilities there if needed for their stay.

The Serra do Conduru State Park was established in 1997 and stretches partly into the municipality's territory. More than 40 percent of this large forest area lies within Uruçuca's boundaries, making it an important part of the local environment.
