The neoclassical three-story building features symmetrical arched windows, decorative columns, and a central entrance facing Terreiro de Jesus square.
Built in 1905 to replace the Jesuit College, this structure housed Brazil's first medical school, established in 1808 during Portuguese Crown's arrival.
The building contains the Memorial of Brazilian Medicine, preserving documents, instruments, and artifacts that showcase the evolution of medical education.
Located at Praça Quinze de Novembro, the building requires urgent restoration work and currently houses the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology.
The structure combines elements from different architectural periods, maintaining the original entablature that connects with Salvador Cathedral's facade.
