Bela Vista is a povoado of the municipality of Araci, Bahia, about 18 km from the municipal seat and some 228 km from Salvador, with roughly 1,000 inhabitants. It lies mainly in a valley northwest of the seat, where rocky formations rise, among them the Monte do Cruzeiro on the bank of the Carnaíba stream. The settlement has two or three blocks of streets, a main street, the Praça Sebastião Reis de Carvalho, a football field in the centre and the municipal school Martim Pereira da Silva.

Bela Vista is one of the 52 povoados that make up the municipality of Araci, in Bahia. The sources record no founding date or founding event; they describe it as a settlement whose livelihood has rested on agriculture and livestock raising, with cassava, beans, cattle, goats and sheep, and which the municipal government has encouraged to expand farming.
