Mala Mala Game Reserve

The 13,300-hectare Mala Mala Game Reserve spans along the Sand River, sharing a 19-kilometer unfenced border with Kruger National Park.

Established in 1927, Mala Mala became the first private game reserve in South Africa to shift from hunting activities to photographic safaris.

The reserve maintains strong ties with local communities through employment programs and supports regional conservation initiatives across Mpumalanga province.

Visitors can choose between three accommodation options: Main Camp, Rattray's Camp, and Sable Camp, each providing different levels of luxury and privacy.

The reserve allows unrestricted time during wildlife sightings, with 70 percent of the property designated for private vehicle traversing without other tourists.
