Blue Lagoon National Park

The Blue Lagoon National Park spans 500 square kilometers of wetlands, swamps, and grasslands at an elevation of 978 meters above sea level.

The park, established in 1976, originated from a former farmland where the original farmhouse now functions as the main park reception building.

Local communities near the park maintain traditional practices while supporting conservation efforts through sustainable interactions with the protected environment.

The park includes four chalets and a campsite at the floodplain edge, with a 5-kilometer causeway leading to an elevated viewing platform.

Between November and April, the park transforms into an extensive floodplain, creating perfect conditions for large gatherings of Kafue lechwe antelopes.
