Armando Emilio Guebuza Bridge

The Armando Emilio Guebuza Bridge stretches for 2,376 meters over the Zambezi River, connecting the provinces of Sofala and Zambezia with its 16-meter-wide structure.

Completed in 2009 by Mota-Engil Soares da Costa with WSP Global design, the bridge replaced the existing ferry service after a construction period starting in December 2005.

The bridge bears the name of former Mozambican President Armando Guebuza and represents a major step in the country's infrastructure development program.

Vehicles crossing the bridge must pay tolls, with fees set at 3 US dollars for cars and 30 US dollars for trucks under National Road Administration management.

The structure features six spans with a box girder design, allowing ships to pass underneath while maintaining the vital EN1 road connection across the Zambezi River.
