Kapichira Falls

Kapichira Falls is a waterfall on the Shire River in southern Malawi where water drops in multiple stages over rocky terrain. The cascading tiers create a series of natural pools and white water channels through the landscape.

David Livingstone documented these falls in 1859 during his exploration of the region and named them after geologist Sir Roderick Murchison. The waterfall became known through this early expedition record.
