Kassuende Bridge, Road bridge across Zambezi River in Tete, Mozambique
The Kassuende Bridge spans 715 meters over the Zambezi River, connecting the regions of Tete and Moatize with two traffic lanes and wide shoulders.
Construction of this infrastructure project began in April 2011 and reached completion in November 2014, with a total investment of 105 million euros.
The bridge represents a critical connection point between Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Zambia, facilitating international trade and regional exchanges.
Located 6 kilometers downstream from Samora Machel Bridge, this crossing reduces traffic congestion by providing an alternative route between Malawi and Zimbabwe.
The structure incorporates a specialized flood protection dam on its northern bank to prevent water damage during seasonal river fluctuations.
