Magoe National Park

Magoe National Park is a protected area of forests and grasslands along the southern shore of Cahora Bassa Dam in northern Mozambique. The terrain spans a large area and creates diverse habitats for different plants and animals throughout the park.

The protected area was established by Mozambique's government in 2013, building on earlier community-based wildlife protection efforts in the region. This transition marked an important step in recognizing and protecting the area at a national level.

The waters of Cahora Bassa Dam are known for large populations of tiger fish that attract fishing enthusiasts. This fish species is a distinctive feature within the park and draws visitors interested in this activity.
