UAP Tower, Commercial skyscraper in Upper Hill district, Nairobi, Kenya.
UAP Tower is a skyscraper in the Upper Hill district of Nairobi, Kenya, standing 163 meters tall. Its facade combines two tones, and the building ends at the top with a transparent pyramid-shaped crown from which an antenna protrudes.
Planning for the UAP Tower started in 2009, and the building was completed in 2015. At the time of its completion, it was among the tallest office buildings in East Africa and changed the skyline of Upper Hill noticeably.
The UAP Tower stands in Upper Hill, a neighborhood that has grown into Nairobi's main business hub over the past few decades. From streets below, the glass pyramid at the top makes it easy to spot among the other office towers nearby.
The building is mainly used for offices, so public access to the interior is limited to the ground-floor areas. Parking is available on-site, which makes it straightforward to visit by car.
Custom aluminum elements were imported from abroad during construction because they were not available locally at the time. These components were made specifically for the facade and the pyramid crown of the building.
