Candhi Lesung Batu, Hindu-Buddhist temple in Musi Rawas Utara, Indonesia.
Candhi Lesung Batu is a temple site in Musi Rawas Utara consisting of scattered ancient bricks and archaeological remains. The location sits within rubber plantations in South Sumatra and contains fragments such as yoni stones and foreign ceramics.
The structure dates to the Hindu period and was later investigated by archaeologists from Puslitarkenas and the Palembang Archaeological Center. A makara statue was photographed and documented in the late 1800s.
The stone structures show signs of Hindu religious practice and foreign trade contacts through ceramics found on site. These remains help visitors today understand how people in this region lived and worshipped centuries ago.
The site is maintained by a caretaker who oversees preservation and can assist visitors. Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for uneven ground and scattered archaeological fragments throughout the area.
The boundary walls are entirely constructed from bricks, forming a rare example of early structural border markings in the region. These brick structures are now fragile in places and show the craftsmanship of ancient builders.
