The Istana Bung Hatta is a presidential palace located in central Bukittinggi with a total building area of approximately 3,600 square meters. The structure features a rectangular footprint and stands as an important landmark in the city.
The original building was destroyed in 1948 during the Second Dutch-Indonesian War. The palace was reconstructed in 1961 and has served as an important site of national significance since then.
