Dian Al-Mahri Mosque, Golden dome mosque in Depok, Indonesia.
Dian Al-Mahri Mosque is a place of worship in Depok with three gold-coated domes and crystal mosaics. The interior shows columns, chandeliers and calligraphy in a Middle Eastern style, spread across several levels for worshippers.
A businesswoman from Jakarta acquired the site in the early 2000s and funded the construction. The work lasted until 2006 and produced one of the largest prayer houses in the region.
The domes and towers show forms from the Arab world that are less common in West Java. Many visitors come to see the decoration and use the wide prayer spaces.
The complex is open daily and welcomes worshippers for prayer and visitors who want to see the building. The floors and stairs are designed for large groups and require modest clothing inside.
The imam's residence stands next to the main hall, with a separate area for receptions and administration. In the upper rooms hang items from European workshops that were delivered from Italy during construction.
