Mampang Prapatan, Administrative district in South Jakarta, Indonesia
Mampang Prapatan is an administrative district in South Jakarta that comprises five villages: Kuningan Barat, Pela Mampang, Bangka, Tegal Parang, and Mampang Prapatan. Each village functions as a separate administrative unit with its own local services and community centers.
The area was part of the Ommelanden van Batavia Residency centered in Depok until 1949, when it was officially designated as a district through Government Regulation Number 60 in 1990. This administrative change shaped its development into a distinct urban zone.
The Al Barkah Mosque, constructed in 1818, exhibits traditional Javanese architectural elements and stands as a religious landmark in the district.
The district is well connected to other parts of Jakarta through the Transjakarta bus network and includes schools, hospitals, and local markets. This infrastructure makes it easy for visitors to move between the different villages and access everyday services.
The headquarters of Trans Media, which operates major television channels including Trans TV, Trans7, CNN Indonesia, and CNBC Indonesia, is located in this district. This media presence makes it an important broadcasting hub for the country.
