Ancol Dreamland, Entertainment complex in Jakarta, Indonesia
Ancol Dreamland is an entertainment complex located along the northern coast of Jakarta Bay with multiple themed areas. The site includes different zones featuring rides, water parks, and marine attractions connected by internal transportation networks.
The site began in the 1960s as a recreation development under President Sukarno on swampland. The complex was gradually expanded with new themed areas and attractions following its opening in 1966.
The Art Market displays Indonesian handicrafts and provides workspaces where local artists create and sell paintings and traditional items. Visitors can watch creative processes happening in these open studios.
The complex is open daily and can be reached by public bus or private vehicle. Shuttle buses and gondolas connect the different zones throughout the site.
Ocean Dream Samudra features shows with marine animals and uses 4D technology with effects like water spray and wind. These added sensations provide audiences with a complete immersive experience during performances.
