Ancol Dreamland, Entertainment complex in Jakarta, Indonesia
Ancol Dreamland is an entertainment complex located along the northern coast of Jakarta Bay, housing multiple themed areas. The site covers about 552 hectares and features a main park with 27 rides, water parks, and marine attractions connected by internal transportation networks.
The site was originally swampland before being developed for recreation in the 1960s under President Sukarno. The complex opened in 1966 and was gradually expanded with additional themed areas and attractions over time.
The Art Market area displays Indonesian handicrafts while providing workspaces where local artists create and sell paintings and traditional items. Visitors can watch creative processes happening in these open studios.
The complex is open daily and can be reached by public bus or private vehicle. Internal shuttle buses and gondolas connect the different zones throughout the site.
Ocean Dream Samudra hosts shows featuring marine animals and uses 4D technology with effects like water splashes and wind. These added sensations give audiences a complete sensory experience during performances.
