Sunter Karya, Transit station in North Jakarta, Indonesia.
Sunter Karya is a TransJakarta bus rapid transit station in North Jakarta, built on a raised central platform that spans Danau Sunter Utara Street. Pedestrian bridges connect the platform to both sides of the road, and automated fare gates control entry and exit.
The station opened on February 14, 2013, as part of TransJakarta Corridor 12, and was known as Sunter Mall during its construction phase. It was part of a broader push to extend the bus rapid transit network into the northern parts of the city.
The station sits close to Lake Sunter, a water reservoir that many local residents use for walking and leisure. This proximity makes the stop a meeting point between the daily commute and the outdoor life of the neighborhood.
The platform can be reached from either side of the street using the pedestrian bridges, and signs are easy to follow. It is a good idea to load your transit card before arriving, especially during morning and early evening rush hours.
Lake Sunter, just steps from the station, serves both as a local recreation spot and as a flood control reservoir for the surrounding neighborhoods. Visitors leaving the station can reach the lakeside in just a few minutes on foot.
