Kertajati International Airport is an international facility in Majalengka, West Java province, serving passengers from different parts of Indonesia and beyond. The president announced in the summer of 2023 that commercial flight operations from the older Husein Sastranegara facility would move here starting in the fall of that year. This decision marked a major shift in the region's air travel infrastructure.
The facility also carries the name Sunan Kalijaga, a revered figure in the history of Islam in Java, reflecting the region's spiritual roots. Visitors notice this local connection through signage and architectural references throughout the terminal.
