Sumedang Larang Palace

Sumedang Larang Palace is a royal palace museum in West Java displaying objects from the Sunda Kingdom era. The building houses a collection of traditional weapons, royal insignia, crown regalia, and ceremonial garments that document the region's past.

The structure originated around the 8th century and served as the seat of local rule for several centuries. By the late 1600s, the region lost its independence when it was absorbed into the Mataram Sultanate.

The palace reflects the reverence for the royal lineage of Prabu Tajimalela and remains central to local memory and pride. The way spaces are arranged and objects displayed shows how deeply this kingdom shaped the identity of the region.

The site sits in a quiet area with clear signage and is straightforward to reach. The paths inside and around the grounds are well maintained, making it easy for visitors to move around comfortably.

The grounds preserve the burial site of a notable resistance fighter who spent her final years in this region. This connection to a national figure adds another layer of history beyond the royal narrative.
