Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium, Football stadium in Gedebage district, Bandung, Indonesia
Gelora Bandung Lautan Api is a football stadium in the Gedebage district of Bandung, Indonesia, with seating for 38,000 spectators across four floors. The site covers 72,000 square meters (17.8 acres) and is surrounded by 40 hectares (99 acres) of support areas.
Construction started in October 2009 with a budget of 545 billion rupiah. The official opening took place in March 2013 by Mayor Dada Rosada.
The name recalls an event from 1946 when large parts of the city burned. Residents and visitors see the reference to fire as a symbol of local resilience.
The stadium sits in the eastern part of Bandung and is accessible by car or public transport. Visitors should plan to arrive early before major matches, as the area gets busy during events.
Since 2022, the city government has held talks with British authorities about stadium management expertise. This collaboration aims to improve operations and standards.
