Villa Isola, Art Deco villa in northern Bandung, Indonesia.
Villa Isola is a four-story residence in northern Bandung designed with geometric shapes, rectangular ponds, and circular elements following Art Deco principles. The building now serves as the administrative headquarters of Indonesia University of Education.
Dutch architect Wolff Schoemaker designed this residence in 1933 for media executive Dominique Willem Berretty, who died in a plane crash one year later.
The building combines European architectural ideas with Indonesian design elements, including circular patterns and its alignment toward Mount Tangkuban Perahu. Visitors can observe this blend directly in the building's exterior details and spatial layout.
The building functions as a university administrative office and requires prior permission to enter. Visitors should contact the institution ahead of their visit.
The northern entrance displays a concrete pillar with a figure carrying a load, while twin decorative ponds with ornamental details sit on either side.
