Grampians National Park

Five sandstone mountain ranges extend through the park, featuring steep eastern slopes, gentle western inclines, and numerous waterfalls across 167,000 hectares of protected land.

The park gained national park status in 1984 and received recognition on the National Heritage List in 2006 for its natural characteristics and Aboriginal heritage.

The Gunditjmara and Jardwadjali peoples maintain deep connections to Gariwerd, with numerous rock art sites like Billimina Shelter displaying their ancestral presence.

The Grampians Peaks Trail spans 164 kilometers through the park, offering multiple access points and designated camping areas for hikers planning multi-day expeditions.

Mount William creates the Grampians Wave phenomenon, enabling glider pilots to reach altitudes of 8,500 meters under specific weather conditions.
