McKenzies Flat Picnic Area serves as the main starting point with electric barbecues, toilets, and tables available. Walking trails depart from here and follow the river through the gorge.
Fixed artificial stepping stones at two river crossings allow hikers to cross the water without getting soaked during normal water levels. This practical addition makes the river crossing much more manageable for visitors.
