Cape Tourville Lighthouse, Coastal lighthouse in Freycinet National Park, Tasmania
The cylindrical concrete lighthouse rises 11 feet high on a granite headland, featuring a white lantern and balcony overlooking the Tasmanian coast.
The Cape Tourville Lighthouse, constructed in 1971 by Hurburgh and Olbrich contractors, replaced the former Cape Forestier Lighthouse located on Lemon Rock.
The lighthouse forms part of Tasmania's maritime navigation system, marking the route for vessels carrying wood chips from the Triabunna mill.
Visitors need a park entry pass to access the lighthouse via Coles Bay, following 10 kilometers of unsealed roads through Freycinet National Park.
The 600-meter walking track encircling the lighthouse provides views of Wineglass Bay, The Hazards, and The Nuggets rock formations.
