Built in the 1840s, the hotel expanded in the 1880s with the addition of a third floor and decorative cast iron balconies, serving guests for over 120 years.
The establishment received notable guests including author Anthony Trollope, politician Henry Parkes, and opera performer Nellie Melba during its operation period.
The building now functions as commercial space and apartments, maintaining its protected status under the New South Wales State Heritage Register since April 1999.
The structure remains the sole example of a three-story verandah hotel with intact Victorian features in Bathurst, displaying its original 1880s architectural elements.
