Bankstown Bunker, Underground military bunker in Condell Park, Australia.
The concrete bunker contains a two-story operations room with a large map displaying the South West Pacific theater of World War II.
Built between 1943 and 1944, this Royal Australian Air Force facility served as Air Defence Headquarters Sydney until its closure in 1947.
Military personnel worked in shifts called Flights, receiving specialized training in aircraft identification while stationed at the Chapel Road accommodation.
The structure remains partially intact beneath townhouses, with its original layout featuring plotting rooms, escape tunnels, and communication facilities.
The central operations room replicated underground command centers from wartime England, coordinating defense against potential aerial threats.
